They have a wealth of experience in design, development, and maintenance of lessons gathered from activities both within and outside The Carpentries. The majority of Lesson Developer Trainers are volunteers and all have been certified through a multi-week program of Lesson Developer Trainer Training coordinated by the Curriculum Team.</p> <h2 id="how-do-collaborative-lesson-development-training-events-run">How do Collaborative Lesson Development Training events run?</h2> <p>Collaborative Lesson Development Training is taught virtually, over the Zoom video conferencing platform. Trainers make extensive use of screen sharing and breakout rooms during the training, enhanced by live demonstration and a shared notes document. We provide two avenues for community members to share lesson materials - <a href="https://carpentries-incubator.org/">The Carpentries Incubator</a> and <a href="https://carpentries-lab.org/">The Carpentries Lab</a>.</p> <p>The Carpentries Incubator is for:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborative lesson development (from conceptual to stable lessons).</li> <li>Providing visibility for lessons that are being worked on.</li> </ul> <p>The Carpentries Lab is for:</p> <ul> <li>Peer-reviewed, short-format, lessons that use the teaching approach and lesson design from The Carpentries.</li> <li><a href="https://github.com/carpentries-lab/reviews/">Submitting lessons for peer-review</a> in a way traditional journal peer-review would not be able to provide.</li> </ul> <p><a href="#the-carpentries-incubator">More information about The Carpentries Incubator, The Carpentries Lab, and how the table below is built is available at the end of this page</a></p>
